Many times, those who have rubbed shoulders with Miriam have parted thinking, "My she certainly is a nice person to be around!" Indeed, she does possess a pleasant demeanor, and it is through this characteristic that she has enjoyed all of her endeavors, which range from sleeping underneath lurking vampire bats deep in Peruvian jungle to tromping around gleefully in some mountain meadow picking miner's lettuce. Perhaps these are the very things that have shaped her life.

She brings to the table, for your benefit, a treasure of knowledge related to the outdoors. She has taught edible wild plants nearly 35 years in 30 states and several foreign countries. She also assisted her deceased husband (Jack Darnall) in conducting wilderness survival seminars all over North America and in Canada and Peru. She was associate director of the former International Wilderness Club and is listed in Who's Who in American Women.

In addition, she is a published author, co-author, editor, and photographer having been directly involved with several books, manuals, workbooks, magazines, and slide sets. Among the list are the Dining on the Wilds Reference Manual, the Wild Plants to Eat Workbook and slide set, the Mushrooms to Eat slide set, the Survivaling and Come Out magazines, and no less than 8 correspondence courses on subjects such as edible wild plants, wilderness survival, herbs, and natural remedies.

One of her proudest accomplishments is the Dining on the Wilds video series. She covers over 280 edible wild plants from all over the U.S., and takes the viewer through an invaluable in-the-wilds learning adventure featuring her subject material and extensive field knowledge.

Miriam is also a teacher, speaker, and herbalist. She regularly teaches an edible wild plants hands-on interactive course at Loma Linda University in Southern California, and takes speaking engagements all over the U.S.

However, after all of her accomplishments are boiled away, and in light of the great scheme of things, she has contributed, most importantly, her great positive attitude and love for God, family, and life. This friends, is Miriam Kramer, Lady Eduquip.
